I have a standard fee and I also make arrangements if needed. The rate for therapy is something we will talk about during our initial consultation or meeting.
People ask if I take insurance. Because the insurance maze has become so complicated and time-consuming, I tell people that I would honestly rather make fee arrangements if someone cannot pay my full rate. Negotiating & filling claims with insurance companies can take so much time and energy, I find that the energy spent on that endeavor takes away energy that I would like to put towards the quality of my work and continuing education. Lastly, insurance companies usually require a diagnosis in order to reimburse providers. I find that some people would like the freedom to pursue their mental health goals without having to be diagnosed and for that information to be shared with their insurance provider. These are the main reasons why I don’t take insurance, but please feel free to ask me directly if this is a concern.
Superbills are itemized receipts that are formatted for insurance reimbursement purposes. I encourage you to find out if your provider reimburses a portion of your therapy fee. You should ask about your “Out of Network” benefits.
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.
Cash, check and all major credit cards accepted for payment.
Sessions are 50 minutes in duration. In order for therapy to be effective, I believe consistency is a crucial ingredient. Weekly therapy is the minimum attendance. I also understand that there are unforeseen circumstances and life happens, vacations are necessary, etc … so sometimes you will need to cancel. For this reason, my policy is to allow five (5) cancellations per year. If you need to cancel more than five times in a calendar year, you will be responsible for the fee for those sessions.
