I have a standard fee and I also make arrangements if needed. The rate for therapy is something we will talk about during our initial consultation or meeting.
Regarding insurance: People ask if I take insurance. Because the insurance maze has become so complicated and time-consuming, I tell people that I would honestly rather make fee arrangements if someone cannot pay my full rate. Negotiating & filling claims with insurance companies can take so much time and energy, I find that the energy spent on that endeavor takes away energy that I would like to put towards the quality of my work and continuing education. Lastly, insurance companies usually require a diagnosis in order to reimburse providers. I find that some people would like the freedom to pursue their mental health goals without having to be diagnosed and for that information to be shared with their insurance provider. These are the main reasons why I don’t take insurance, but please feel free to ask me directly if this is a concern.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
